GBrowser: Install

GBrowser is a plugin for JetBrains IDEs that adds the GBrowser tool window, an embedded Chromium browser.

Requirements

  • The current version, 2026.3.1, works with JetBrains IDEs 2026.3: builds 263.3889 to 263.*, which includes the 2026.3 EAP. It does not install on later IDE versions. For earlier IDE versions, JetBrains Marketplace offers the last GBrowser release that supports them. For example, it offers 2026.2.3 for 2026.2, 2026.1.8 for 2026.1 and 2025.3.9 for 2025.3.

  • The IDE must run on a runtime with JCEF support, such as the bundled JetBrains Runtime.

  • The bundled Web Browser (JCEF) plugin must be enabled. GBrowser depends on it and cannot be enabled without it.

Install GBrowser

Install from JetBrains Marketplace

  1. Open the Settings dialog (Ctrl+Alt+S, macOS: ⌘ ,) and select Plugins.

  2. Open the Marketplace tab.

  3. Type GBrowser in the search field.

  4. Click Install next to GBrowser.

  5. If the IDE asks you to restart, click Restart IDE.

Install from disk

Use this method when the IDE has no access to JetBrains Marketplace.

  1. Download the plugin ZIP file that matches your IDE version from the GBrowser versions page.

  2. In the Settings dialog, select Plugins.

  3. Click the gear icon and select Install Plugin from Disk....

  4. Select the downloaded ZIP file and click OK.

  5. If the IDE asks you to restart, click Restart IDE.

Check the installation

After the installation, the GBrowser button appears on the left tool window bar. To open the browser and start browsing, see Open GBrowser.
